DCC Economy Transport and Communities are pleased to advise that the Digital Derbyshire programme has upgraded another area of Hathersage i.e. Station Road (Hathersage cabinet E4 located outside Hawthornedene). This means that many residents can now order fibre broadband from an internet service provider (ISP) of their choice.
To experience the benefits of fibre broadband, residents will need to order fibre from an internet service provider of their choice. It isn’t automatic and it is subscription based.
Residents can check if their premise can upgrade to fibre by using a couple of websites – an easy one is https://www.homeandwork.openreach.co.uk/when-can-i-get-fibre.aspx
Another website is: https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/adsl.htm?s_cid=ws_furls_adslchecker
The cabinets funded by the Digital Derbyshire project, once live are ‘open access’ – so residents can upgrade to fibre via an Internet Service Provider (ISP) of their choice.
New areas which can benefit via our project (not an exhaustive list) are parts of: Back Lane, Leadmill, Station Road, Heather Lane, Ladybower Drive, Fellview Close, Heathers Edge and Oddfellows Road.
