A number of events are being organised, by area; for communities in Hathersage, Grindleford, Curbar, Eyam, Stoney Middleton, Beeley, Rowsley and the surrounding area a drop-in is scheduled for Friday 19 January, 2pm to 7pm, in Baslow Village Hall, Nether End, Baslow, DE45 1SR.

River Derwent Stepping Stones_Emergency Temporary Footpath Closure_Dec2023

See the attached notice confirming a temporary closure – 18 December to 8 January – of parts of Public Footpath No 24, Outseats Parish; and Public Footpath No. 8, Offerton Parish – where the paths cross the River Derwent at the stepping stones. As a result of the October flooding, and exacerbated by recent heavy rain, some of the stepping stones had moved; all are completely submerged. Following an inspection by DCC Officers it was agreed there were safety concerns for members of the public. We expect DCC will review the position when the temporary closure notice expires.
